Storyline:
At one point, specifically in Thee Thalapathy's song, Varisu transforms into a Vijay showreel. The editing turns out to be extravagant and looks like a collage of slow-motion videos of Vijay that you can find on YouTube as a fan tribute. Another time, the film completely devolves into a subplot about rescuing a girl from human trafficking, which frequently transforms into a metacomedy. Without missing a beat, songs and fights show up exactly where you expect them to. However, the conviction with which they are carried out makes everything that is intended to be jarring effective. It's silly, illogical, and stupid, but it's fun.
Atharintiki Daaredi, Srimanthudu, Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, and every other iteration of that one story about the succession of the reluctant son, who turns out to be the only hope to save the empire and family are all included in Varisu. The movie directed by Vamshi Paidipally has a screenplay that reads like it came from an algorithm fed with keywords: "Jagapathi Babu," "four fights," "extravagant songs," "masala," and "mom-son sentiment" are some of the Vijay mass moments. It follows all of the tried-and-true formulas of a popular family comedy, in which the hero solves the problems of everyone in the family and defeats a single external foe.
